Pregnant 18-y-o in custody following fatal altercation
An 18-year-old soon-to-be mother has been taken into police custody, after she allegedly stabbed a man to death during a dispute in the Mount Ogle district, St Andrew over the weekend.
The dead man has been identified as 31-year-old Ryan West, the young woman's ex-uncle-in-law.
The STAR understands that both persons were engaged in an altercation on Saturday about 8:15 p.m., when the now deceased held onto the accused's neck.
She reportedly managed to free herself and ran to a house where she became armed with a knife.
They both met in a walkway leading to the yard where another altercation developed between them, during which the suspect used the knife to stab the now deceased to his neck.
West collapsed and was later assisted to the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH) where he was pronounced dead.
It is reported that a knife, believed to be the murder weapon, was retrieved from the scene.
