Golding calls Holness gov't most corrupt in Jamaican history
President of the People's National Party, Mark Golding, has come out with a stinging classification of the Andrew Holness lead government, calling it the most corrupt in Jamaica history.
Golding was speaking at a stakeholders meeting at the Bethel Junior High School in Hopewell, Hanover, on Thursday.
"The list of scandals under their watch is long, and deep; and it continues...and they are the most corrupt government in the history of Jamaica," he said
He also went on to allege that the Jamaica Labour Party has manipulated the rules and laws governing the Integrity Commission.
"This government seems intent on dismantling the Integrity Commission, they want to pass amendments where it takes away some of its most important powers, and effectively use them so that it cannot do its job of finding the corruption in the country," Golding asserted
The opposition leader was also given a tour of the Hopewell Division by newly elected constituency chairman, Craig Oates, and vice-chair Andrea Dehaney, who also serves as Deputy Mayor at the Lucea Municipal Corporation.
