INDECOM, IPROB to probe fatal police shooting in Spanish Town

The Inspectorate and Professional Standards Oversight Bureau (IPROB), and the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM), are to probe the death of two men who were reportedly killed in a confrontation with the police in Gordon Pen, St Catherine on Saturday. 

The deceased men have been identified as 30-year-old Cleon Rowe and 17-year-old Tiwayne Cunningham.

According to the Spanish Town police, about 8:15 a.m., lawmen were carrying out an operation in the Kennedy Lane, Gordon Pen area, when they came under heavy gun fire.

The lawmen took action and returned gunfire.

The men were later discovered with gunshot wounds in a building at the above mentioned address.

Two Sarsilmaz pistols were recovered from the men’s person, along with several rounds of ammunition.
