October 11, 2023

Akeem Robinson, a man police said was a suspect in a double murder that took place in 2017, was among four persons killed when gunmen attacked a house in Duanvale, Trelawny, on Monday night.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Clifford Chambers said Robinson, 27, was identified as a person of interest in the shooting deaths of 25-year-old Kerry-Ann Williams and her eight-year-old son, Javair Kerr-Lemon, in Kinloss in the parish on November 22, 2017. Robinson was arrested, but Chambers said "investigators had difficulties proffering charges against him because of identification issues".

On Monday night, Robinson was shot and killed about 10 on Monday night along with his 21-year-old girlfriend Amelia Livingston, his 51-year-old cousin Cordel Graham, and Graham's 43-year-old common-law spouse Nicole White in Duanvale.

Chambers said that Robinson was allegedly involved in lottery scamming, and that he had reportedly had a dispute with persons from Kinloss prior to his death.

"The investigation is at an extreme infancy stage, but the investigators are combing the scene. They have been able to lift pertinent evidence so far, and we will be relying on scientific evidence to advance the investigation to some extent," said Chambers.

Relatives of the deceased are struggling to come to terms with the murders. Gloria Robinson, 85, the mother of Graham, who she called 'Bia', said he always cared for her.

"Mi always say a you a go bury mi. Now a mi haffi plan fi bury him," Robinson said.

She said she heard the gunshots on Monday night, and one of her children told her that Graham had been killed.

"All now mi nuh sleep," a bedridden Robinson told THE STAR. Graham's son Nicardo, 18 said they both worked on construction sites as masons.

"From work to home, a just so him stay. Jah know star nuh know what fi say," he said. White's sister Chris -Ann wailed while being supported by friends.

"Nicole nuh have no enemies so mi can't understand what mek dem kill mi sister," she cried.
