21-y-o charged with murder of GC Foster VP

Twenty-one-year-old Kingston resident Jerome Hayles has been charged with the murder of Gibbs Williams, the vice-principal of G.C. Foster College of Physical Education and Sport. 

The announcement was made by Senior Superintendent of Police, Christopher Phillips, who also confirmed that several other persons were also taken into custody in relation to the matter.

Williams was shot multiple times on October 6, during a visit to the Portmore Hospital Complex in St Catherine. 

It is reported that he ran inside of the complex during the incident where he collapsed. He was transported to the Spanish Town Hospital where he was pronounced dead. 

The motives for the killing have not yet been established, but Phillips says investigations will continue into the matter.
