St John’s Road blocked during protest
Motorists who were looking to traverse St John's Road in Spanish Town, St Catherine today were forced to find alternate routes after the roadway was blocked by protesters.
The STAR understands that the gate at the Jamaica Railroad crossing was used to blocked the thoroughfare and a sign left with demands.
Although inconvenienced by the situation, several motorists endorsed the action.
"I am glad that it will get attention. Everyday vehicle lose front end parts as the roadway has become a gully," one motorist said.
Noting that the corridor is a Parochial Road, Mayor of Spanish Town Norman Scott said he is in agreement that the road needs attention.
When contacted, a representative of the National Works Agency promised to return a call to our news team on the situation.
