Biker, pillion shot in Westmoreland

A shooting in Petersfield, Westmoreland has left one man dead and another injured. 

The deceased has been identified as 25-year-old Ricko Torrington, a bike taxi operator of Shrewsberry in Petersfield. 

It is reported that about 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, Torrington and the other man were travelling on a motorcycle when they were attacked by unknown assailants upon reaching a section of the roadway.

Torrington sustained gunshot wounds to the upper body and the other man was shot in the shoulder.

Both men were taken to the hospital where Torrington was pronounced dead and the other man was admitted in stable condition.

Investigations continue.
