Suspect in policeman's murder shot and killed in St Ann

A man who was the main suspect in the murder of a St Ann-based policeman last night was shot and killed during a police operation in the parish today.

The deceased has been identified as Siraldo Butler, otherwise called 'Siri', of Snake Lane, Steer Town in St Ann.

The police reportedly went in search of the suspect in a section of Steer Town and were challenged by Butler.

They reportedly returned the fire and Butler was shot in the process. He died from the injuries received.

An illegal pistol was allegedly seized from him.

Constable Ricardo Fairclough was shot and killed after he responded to a robbery along Bravo Street, close to the St Ann's Bay Police Station.
