‘Crocs’ charged for robbing, killing Clarendon cookshop operator

Twenty-one-year-old mechanic Tawayne Douse, otherwise called ‘Crocs’, of Cane River Road, Bull Bay, St Andrew has been charged for robbing and fatally shooting a cookshop operator in Summerfield, Clarendon.

Douse was charged on Wednesday with robbery with aggravation, possession of prohibited weapon, unauthorised possession of ammunition and using a prohibited weapon to commit a felon.

Cookshop owner Conry Osbourne, 52, otherwise called ‘Soljie’, of a Summerfield address, was killed on Friday, May 10.

Reports from the May Pen police are that about 10:00 p.m., Douse entered the cookshop posing as a customer and later opened gunfire hitting Osbourne all over his body.

He escaped with an undetermined sum of money in a waiting motor car.

The lawmen from the parish collaborated with detectives in the St Andrew Central Division and captured Douse in the Maxfield area and transported him to May Pen Police Station.

He was officially charged on Wednesday, July 17 after a question-and-answer session in the presence of two Justices of the Peace.

A court date for him is being finalised.
