No medal for Jamaica in women's 4x100m relay
August 09, 2024
Jamaica’s women’s 4x100m relay team placed fifth in the final at the Paris Games.
The quartet of Alana Reid, Kemba Nelson, Shashalee Forbes and Tia Clayton stopped the clock in a season’s best time of 42.29 seconds.
The United States took the gold medal in 41.78 with Great Britain second in 41.85 and Germany third in 41.97.
Without the likes of Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Shericka Jackson, who both withdrew from the event due to injury, it proved an uphill task for Jamaica’s next generation of sprinters.
