Policeman in St Catherine remanded on sexual assault charges
A policeman who reportedly sexually assaulted a woman and tried to flee the island was remanded when he appeared in the St Catherine Parish Court today.
The cop is facing charges of causing grievous bodily harm, abduction, cruelty to a child and rape.
He being represented by attorney-at-law Richard Lynch.
The policeman, who is assigned to the Bog Walk Police Station, was ordered by the court to return on Friday.
It is being alleged that the accused sexually assaulted the female complainant.
A report to made to the police.
He was charged following a ruling by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
He was held while trying to leave Jamaica on Friday, September 13.
