JDF soldier accidentally shoots himself

A member of the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) was rushed to hospital this afternoon after his rifle reportedly discharged hitting him.

The incident happened outside the Spanish Town Police Station on Burke Road in Spanish Town, St Catherine.

The soldier was mounting a patrol vehicle when the accident occurred.

He was rushed to the Spanish Town Hospital, where his condition is currently unknown.
