Identity of man fatally shot by police in Spanish Town revealed

The police in Spanish Town, St Catherine have identified the man who was fatally shot during an alleged shootout with cops in Villa Palm yesterday.

He is 32-year-old Kenrick Campbell, otherwise called 'Wormy', from the same area.

The Independent Commission of Investigations and the Spanish Town Criminal Investigation Branch are probing the matter.

Reports are that at 11: 20 a.m. the police were conducting an operation in the community, during which Campbell allegedly pulled a gun and shot at them.

The police reportedly returned fire, hitting Campbell.

He was taken to the Spanish Town Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
