Pothole allegedly causes fatal car crash in St James
A 33-year-old woman was killed early Friday morning in a motor vehicle crash reportedly caused by a pothole in St James.
Her name has not yet been released by the police.
According to a police report, the woman was a passenger in a Nissan motor car that was travelling north along the Brandon Hill main road about 1:15am when the driver lost control after the vehicle drove through a pothole in the vicinity of the Blossom Gardens Children’s Home.
The vehicle crashed into a concrete wall.
A total of 290 people have died on the nation's roads so far this year, 37 fewer than the comparative figure last year, according to police data.
