St Catherine policemen to reappear in court on assault charges
Constables Christopher Matthews and Ricardo Nelson are to reappear in court on January 28, 2025, for allegedly assaulting a motorist who tore up a traffic ticket that was issued to him.
It is reported that on September 9, 2022, the policemen, who are attached to the Ferry Police Station, gave the motorist a ticket after allegedly observing him commit a traffic offence.
The complainant allegedly tore up the ticket.
He was then reportedly slapped by Nelson while Matthews allegedly kicked him all over his body.
A report was submitted to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions which ruled that the lawmen be charged.
The men are being represented by attorney-at-law Althea Grant.
