Two men arrested, firearms seized in St James following murder
Thanks to the quick action of the St James police two murder suspects and two firearms are now off the streets following the killing of a man on Campbell Lane in Mount Salem in the parish on Thursday.
Dead is 52-year-old Donovan Hayles, otherwise called 'Pepper', a mason of Green Pond in St James.
Police reported that about 9:30 a.m. lawmen heard loud explosions and when they arrived on the scene Hayles was found with multiple gunshot wounds.
He was assisted to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Later at 9:45 p.m. a swift raid of the vicinity was done.
One of the men was caught with an AR rifle. The other was then arrested with a nine-millimetre pistol.
