Case against cashier accused of stealing almost $400,000 postponed
Thirty-year-old former cashier Stephanie Facey is to reappear in the St Catherine Parish Court next year for allegedly stealing almost $400,000 from her employer.
Facey is charged with larceny as a servant.
When the matter was brought before the court today, the defence was told that the case could not be heard because of scheduling issues.
Parish Judge Kahon Lamey postponed the matter to January 5.
It is alleged that on April 5, 2023, Facey collected $374,500 on behalf of the loan company Torpedo Loan in Linstead, St Catherine.
She allegedly failed to lodge the money on the company's behalf.
A report was made to the police.
Investigations led to Facey's arrest and charge.
