St Mary police identify body of pregnant teen found wrapped in tarpaulin
The police have revealed that the murdered pregnant female whose body was found on Sunday wrapped in tarpaulin in Devon Pen, St Mary is a teenager.
She is 16-year-old Jadene Gayle, also known as "Big Red", of Sligo Road, Mountain View, St Andrew. The body was identified by her mother, who reportedly viewed photographs of the victim.
Police source said that Gayle's body was found along the main road in the Devon Pen community shortly after 4:00 p.m. by residents, who alerted them.
Acting superintendent of police for the St Mary division, Anthony Wallace, said the police have since identified Gayle's 39-year-old boyfriend as a person of interest in the case and taken him in for questioning.
He was arrested during an operation carried out Tuesday afternoon at his home located along Sligo Road, off Mountain View Avenue, St Andrew.
