Man charged for shooting in St James last year
Twenty-two-year-old Oneek Henry otherwise called 'CJ' of Top Hill, Mount Carey, St James was charged on Tuesday for a shooting incident in the parish on Friday, July 5, 2024.
He has been charged with three counts of shooting with intent, possession of prohibited weapon, possession of firearm with intent to injure, using firearm to commit a felony and discharge of firearm in any place.
The Montego Bay police say, about 5:45 p.m., three complainants were on their veranda when Henry allegedly approached their gate and opened fire in their direction.
The complainants ran inside their house and locked the door in a bid to escape injury.
The police say once the shooting subsided, the complainants discovered bullet indentations on their veranda wall and bullet holes in the trunk and seats of a Toyota Noah motor car.
No one was injured during the incident.
Henry reportedly escaped on foot.
He later surrendered to the police in the company of his attorney. The police say on January 14, Henry was positively identified by the complainants on an identification parade, after which he was charged.
His court date is being finalised.
