19-y-o charged with murder

Nineteen-year-old construction worker Zwophawn Swaby, otherwise called 'Noah', of Tavares Gardens, Kingston 11 has been charged with murder, following an incident in his community on October 8, 2024.

The deceased has been identified as 26-year-old Jeniel Palmer, otherwise called 'Gal Tief', also a construction worker of a Tavares Gardens address. Reports from the Hunts Bay police are that at 2 p.m., Palmer was visiting a relative when she was pounced upon by men armed with guns who opened fire, hitting her several times. The police were summoned and upon their arrival, Palmer was seen suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper body. She was rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Swaby was arrested during an operation and was charged on Tuesday, following an interview in the presence of his attorney. In addition to murder, he has been charged with possession of prohibited weapon, unauthorised possession of ammunition and using a firearm to commit a felony. His court date is pending.
