Dominican man accused of killing his children’s mother, dies in hospital

ROSEAU, Dominica, CMC - Police said a 29 year- old man, who had been under investigation for the alleged murder of his children's mother, has died at the Dominica / China Friendship hospital after ingesting a poisonous substance.

Police said Artie Nixon of Marigot in north eastern Dominica, died on Sunday, as the probe continues into the death of 42 year -old Daniella 'NASHA' Fontaine at her home in Marigot in the early hours of Friday morning .

Fontaine, was a mother of seven children with Nixon being the father of three of the children.

Police said he had ingested the poisonous substance soon after he killed Fontaine.

Police say they are also investigating the shooting death of 30 year- old Kimmon Emmanuel in the capital on Sunday night.

They said another man, whom they did not identify, is in critical condition at the Dominica China friendship hospital in connection with the shooting.
