Man allegedly rapes woman after fixing her phone
On Monday 27-year-old phone technician Tevin Myrie was charged with raping a woman after he refused to accept money as payment for repairing her phone on April 19.
The Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse has laid rape and forcible abduction charges against Myrie of Maiden Lane in Kingston.
Reports from the police are that on the aforementioned date a young lady visited Myrie to pay for and collect a phone she had given him to repair.
Upon her arrival, she attempted to pay him; however, he refused the sum and forcibly pushed her into his house where he sexually assaulted her according to reports.
A report was made to the police and the accused man was taken into custody during an operation.
He was formally charged on April 28 after a question-and-answer session.
He is scheduled to appear in court on May 09.
