Elderly man dies after being struck by truck in Westmoreland

Last night a 78-year-old man lost his life from injuries he sustained after being hit by a truck in Westmoreland.

He is Gerald Bembridge of Tank Hill, Negril, Westmoreland.

Bembridge was reportedly walking along the Whitehall Road in Negril when he was hit by a motor truck about 8:00 p.m.

He was taken to the Savannah-la-Mar Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The 37-year-old driver of the truck has been warned for prosecution.

The Negril Traffic Department is conducting an investigation into the matter.
