66-y-o man charged with shooting man in Westmoreland

Sixty-six-year-old Veron Earle, of East Street, Savanna-la-mar, Westmoreland is to appear in court for allegedly shooting at a man in a shop in Westmoreland earlier this year.

Earle is charged with wounding with intent and using a firearm to commit a felony.

Reports say that at about 5:00 a.m. on Great Georges Street, in the parish, the victim was at his shop when he was allegedly approached by Earle who brandished a firearm, pointed it in his direction and opened fire hitting him reportedly.

The man escaped and was assisted to the hospital where he was treated and released.

A report was made and an operation conducted, during which Earle was arrested and subsequently charged.

His court date is being finalised.
