August 04, 2025

The man accused of carrying out a gun attack in Kingston nearly two years ago was taken into custody on July 24 -- the same day he was deported from the United States.

He has since been identified as 26-year-old Tereke Davis, otherwise called 'Hittist,' of Lower Ivy Road, Kingston 5.

Davis is facing multiple charges, including wounding with intent, possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorised possession of ammunition, and using a firearm to commit a felony.

According to reports from the Denham Town police, around 9 p.m., on October 14, 2023, Davis and another man were walking along Benbow Street when Davis allegedly pulled a firearm and shot the man. The victim managed to flee the scene despite his injuries and later received treatment at the hospital before being released.

A formal report was made to the police, triggering an investigation into the incident.

The case took a turn on July 24, when Davis was taken into custody upon his deportation from the United States of America. He was subsequently placed on an identification parade, where he was pointed out by an eyewitness.

His court date is currently being finalised.
