Mechanic charged with shooting at vigil
Detectives attached to the Bridgeport Criminal Investigation Branch have charged 19-year-old Adriano Anderson, otherwise called 'Hagman,' a mechanic of Carliss Drive, Gregory Park in St Catherine, following the shooting death of a man in his community on August 14.
The deceased has been identified as 31-year-old Uriah Palmer, otherwise called 'Children', a labourer of Caymanas Gardens, Gregory Park. Reports are that at 2 a.m., Palmer was attending a vigil in Gregory Park where the men had a brief conversation, during which Anderson brandished a handgun, which he used to shoot Palmer before escaping on foot in the area. Palmer was assisted to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The following day, Anderson turned himself in to the police. He was officially charged yesterday, after an interview in the presence of his attorney. A court date for him is being finalised.
