A 30-year-old vendor is behind bars after allegedly using a metal chair to hit a woman who confronted her for reportedly bullying her daughter to the point of crying on Tuesday in Lucea, Hanover.

The accused has been identified as Mickeisha Jones, otherwise called 'Tash', a vendor of Malcolm Heights in the parish.

Reports from the Lucea police are that about 1:00 pm, the complainant was at her vending stall when she was approached by her daughter, who was in tears and claimed that Jones had been calling her names she did not like.

The mother reportedly went to Jones to address the matter, but an argument developed. During the fracas, Jones allegedly used a metal chair to hit the woman to the back of her head, causing a wound that bled.

The incident was reported to the police and Jones was subsequently arrested and charged with unlawful wounding.

She is scheduled to appear before the Hanover Parish Court on Tuesday, February 10
