Online tickets for Racers GP now on sale

Online tickets for the inaugural Racers Grand Prix, scheduled for June 11, are now sale online a month before physical tickets are made available to the public.

Several top local and international athletics superstars have already been confirmed for the meet, which is set to take place inside the National Stadium beginning at 6:30 p.m.

At the event's launch in March, Racers Track Club president and head coach Glen Mills noted that the International Association of Athletics Federations Area Permit -ertified meet will not only bring together the largest collection of Olympic and World Championships medallist ever to compete on our shores, but noted its strategic positioning as a key element in the promotion of a top-class regional circuit.

Fifteen events will be contested with over 115 athletes, including Usain Bolt, Yohan Blake, Warren Weir, Danielle Williams, Asafa Powell, Hansle Parchment, Wayde van Niekerk, LaShawn Merritt, Shaunae Miller and Michelle-Lee Ahye, expected to compete.

To purchase tickets online, fans will have to visit the meet's website at racersgrandprix.com, click on the 'Buy Tickets' tab and then follow the instructions.

Tickets cost $5,000 (US$41.67) for the Grandstand finish-line area; $3,000 (US$25) for the rest of the grandstand and $500 (US$4.17) for the bleachers.

The sale of physical tickets will commence on June 4 at branches of the Jamaica National Building Society.
