D-Day in Montego Bay

DaCosta Cup fever grips the Montego Bay Sports Complex this afternoon with a semi-final doubleheader, starting at four o' clock. Ben Francis Cup champions and 1981 winners Dinthill open proceedings before Super Cup finalists St Elizabeth Technical and 10-time champions Rusea's meet at six.

STETHS will be going into today's game with high spirits off the back of Saturday's come-from-behind Super Cup semi-final win against Calabar High, overturning a two-goal deficit to win on penalties.

Coach Omar 'Rambo' Wedderburn said this afternoon is a must-win game, which they are prepared to fight to the finish.

"This is a must-win game that I think is going to be technical and tactical, down to who wants it the most. It's like you put two gladiators in a ring to fight. At the end, only one will leave standing. I think we will be that gladiator," said Wedderburn.

TOUGH GAME

Rusea's, who last won the daCosta Cup in 2011 is now under the guidance of Coach Vassell Reynolds, who said they are keen on finishing the season positively - with the trophy.

Coach Reynolds said he is expecting an interesting encounter but noted they are in for a tough game as the STETHS team is high on confidence.

"We are up against a never-say-die and confident STETHS team, especially coming off Saturday's big morale booster. We have always had the support so we are just looking to deliver our A-game and come out with a positive result," said Reynolds.

"This season has been good, so far, but we are hell bent on finishing on a positive note. The only way we can do that is by coming out victorious," he added.
