Netball Jamaica (NJ) has been hit by the sudden resignation of directors Michael Boyd and Wayne Lewis.

Boyd told STAR Sports yesterday that he has tendered his resignation to the association, but it is yet to be accepted.

"I have tendered my resignation, but they have invited me to a meeting and so to say that it is confirmed would be not fair to them. I am going to sit and listen to the president, the first vice-president and the company secretary, who is an attorney," said Boyd.

"If they can convince me that things may take a different turn, then I might rescind that resignation," he said.

Boyd said there are a number of issues facing the organisation, which are not being managed in the right way.

"Challenges are there that I don't want to be involved with. I want to step away from the public side of it and help them privately like I have been doing over the years," said Boyd.

"I will go to the meeting and I will make some things very clear because all my life, I have been a professional. It is difficult for me work in a situation that is not properly organised," he said.

Meanwhile, STAR Sports understands that Lewis, who is the director of communications at NJ, handed in his resignation to the board last week.

Efforts to get a comment from Lewis proved futile as calls to his mobile phone went unanswered.

In meantime, president Dr Paula Daley-Morris declined to comment when she was contacted yesterday.
