Holy Trinity will be seeking to avenge their first-round defeat to Wolmer's Boys when both teams meet in a top-of-the-table clash in Group G of the ISSA/Digicel Manning Cup competition at the Bell Chung Oval today.

Wolmer's, who reached the quarter-finals of last year's competition, lead the group with 16 points, one ahead of Holy Trinity.

They are followed by Edith Dalton James (10), Waterford (five), Pembroke Hall (four) and Jose Marti (one).

Holy Trinity, who made it to the semi-finals of last year's competition, were beaten 2-1 by Wolmer's in their first meeting of the season on September 17 at Heroes Circle.

However, Devon Anderson, coach of Holy Trinity, said his players are fired-up for today's encounter, and so he is expecting a good match from his team.

"We are playing the group leaders and we are a point away from them, so it is a very important game for us if we want to take over the leadership of the group," said Anderson.

"We are feeling very confident of going out there and playing 90 minutes of good football and at the end of the 90 minutes, we hope to come out the winners," he said.

Holy Trinity will be led by Phillon Lawrence, who has netted nine goals and Roy Evelyn, who has scored four goals. They are expected to receive support from Dante Green and Nicholas Thomas.

Anderson's opposite, Alex Thomas, said he is expecting a tough encounter from his opponents, but he is confident his team would do well.

Our objective is to get the three points and if we can't get three points then we will settle for a point and ensure that we maintain our lead in the group," said Thomas. We have to make sure that we stick to our game plan and be strong in defence and ensure that we don't give up any goals," he said.

Wolmer's will be depending heavily on the likes of Kimani Gibbons, Rivaldo Mitchell, Tajay Griffiths, and Cleon Hynes to lead their charge to victory.
