Tivoli Gardens midfielder Jermaine 'Teddy' Johnson said he is very anxious to resume his playing career after completing a keyhole surgery on his right knee in Washington D.C. in the United States a month ago.

Johnson told STAR Sports that the surgery was very successful and he is now in the gym working very hard on his recovery process.

"I just started doing gym work (on Tuesday) and also went to the physiotherapist. I am walking much better, but I still can't do certain things that I need to do," said Johnson.

"But I talked to the physiotherapist and she said that I can start running next week. I am looking forward to this because after doing the surgery, the first two weeks was very rough for me, as it was a bit painful," Johnson said.

"But I have been doing the gym work and everything is coming on good," he said.

RETURN TO ACTION

The 38-year-old Johnson, who was the leading scorer in the Red Stripe Premier League two seasons ago, added that he could return to competition action sometime in November.

"I am giving myself about the end of the month to start training with the team and by November start playing, because that is the aim right now," Johnson said.

"I am just anxious to get better and then after that anything is possible. I am just working hard to get back fit right now," he said.

Tivoli have started the RSPL in impressive fashion by winning all their three matches so far. Johnson noted that he is happy with the direction that the team is heading in and hopes to add his experience to the team whenever he is fully fit to play.

"I hope that we can keep up this run because the team is really good to me and the coach is doing an excellent job," said Johnson.

I just hope to add my quality and experience whenever I am fit and ready to play because the aim for us is to win the Premier League," he said.
