Elleston Wakeland Centre in Trelawny is poised for even greater development. According to Ky-Mani Marley, owner of Falmouth United FC which is based at the facility, the sports complex is to be expanded to accommodate other sporting events.

"The community is very excited and supportive because they realise that the only thing that I'm trying to do is get their children off the street and into a safe environment, which will hopefully give them a future," Marley said.

"Not everyone can play football and we don't want to isolate anyone. So we have netball, table tennis and we are bringing in boxing and, track and field. And, hopefully, after we do all that and have space left, then we will build a swimming pool," he added.

"We are in the process of building a boxing gym. We are looking to break ground to start that part on the compound, hopefully, by end of next month or so. We are more than just a football club. This is a sports complex," Marley said.

The Falmouth-born Marley said that the expansion drive is going well, adding that members of the private sector have lending support to the club.

"We've been able to acquire some sponsorship from Caribbean Choice, Royalton Hotel, and Catherine Peak Water. Also, Alacron has been there since the start of it, they are the ones that helped to get a lot of things moving for us as an organisation," said Marley.
