Having recorded their third consecutive Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) home victory, Godfrey Drummond, coach of FC Reno, said they are happy with their home form, but have to work on their away form between now and January.

Reno defeated Dunbeholden 2-1 on Sunday at the Frome Sports Complex.

"We prepare well at home and always relish the opportunity. Even though we gave up a soft goal, we really thought we could have won this game. We want to make all the home games victories for us and once we can do that we should be in mid-table by the middle of the competition. We want to be about mid-table by January so that we can strike from there," said Drummond.

He said he wanted to stem the away defeats and stop giving up goals on the road.

"We did that in Montego Bay and we are hoping we can repeat that on Wednesday when we go to Mt Pleasant. Once we can do that then certainly, we can turn the corner to start getting victories; but first and foremost we have to stop giving up goals," he added.

Kemoy Carruthers gave Reno the lead after four minutes, but Samar Rowe levelled on the stroke of half-time. Renario Downswell gave Reno the lead for good in the 66th minute.

HOPE LOST

All hope was lost for the visitors to even pick up a point when Nickoy Cristian received a second yellow card with 10 minutes to go.

"I think it was a good game, a spirited effort. The result was more important, so even though it was a scrappy game, I thought we were efficient in most parts and we got two goals, which are more than we can say," said Drummond.

Reno tried to have the venue changed to STETHS Sports Complex, where they picked up their second home victory more than two weeks ago.

Drummond explained that the surface is better.

"As you can see, the surface at STETHS is much better than what we have here, so we want to alternate between STETHS and here for our home games. The home advantage is good and once we can get it, whether it is here or STETHS, we will take them," said Drummond.
