Jason Henry, a new physical trainer at Red Stripe Premier League outfit Harbour View FC, is excited about the future as he says he has been having a good year.

He will be working alongside technical director Ludlow Bernard, as he did during Kingston College's successful run to the ISSA/Digicel Manning Cup title late last year.

Henry, who said he "couldn't ask for a better year," was also a part of the technical set-up for the national senior women's football team's historic FIFA Women's World Cup qualifying campaign, as well as part of the national under-20 male team.

"I must say God has been great to me," he said. "It was a great 2018 season, and to start the 2019 season as the new physical trainer for Harbour View is a big plus. This also shows that my work is being noticed. Everyone knows that Harbour View is a top club in the country, so it's a privilege working with them in getting the best out of the players."

Harbour View is good at sending players overseas, so it would be a good base for me to make sure that any player who leaves is in good conditioning," he added.

The 27-year-old trainer, who is thankful for his journey, is hoping to make an impact in Harbour View getting up the table and going all the way.

"I will put my foot down and ensure that Harbour View come back on top. I'm trying to get them really sharp and up to speed for the rest of the season," he said.

"I was really introduced to the national programme as a masseuse through (coach) Davion Ferguson and (former national technical director) Vin Blaine. However, I was introduced to the women's programme by (former head coach) Xavier Gilbert, and from there my physical trainer life changed when I met (current head coach) Hue Menzies. They introduced me to the best physical trainer I ever worked with, Wil Hitzelberger. We worked together and it bore fruit," he added.

"I've learned a lot from him and now I'm putting it to work, so I have to say nuff thanks to the Reggae Girlz staff. They really pushed me and now I'm on my own."
