Britany Anderson, 2018 World Under 20 100m silver medallist, ran a scintillating personal best time of 12.71 seconds in the 100m hurdles at the Motonet Joensuu Grand Prix in Finland yesterday.

If the time gets the ratification green light, Anderson's effort would have erased Rushelle Burton's national junior record of 12.87 seconds, set in July 2016.

The feat would have also been good enough to surpass Dior Hall's world Under 20 record of 12.74 seconds, set at the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon, in June 2015.

Anderson, who was once under the guidance of renowned coach Raymond 'KC' Graham, did not compete at this year's ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls' Athletics Championships.

At 16-years-old, Anderson ran an impressive 12.72 seconds to win the girls' 100m hurdles gold for Jamaica at the 2017 IAAF World U18 Championships Nairobi, Kenya.
