She’s a Maneater to lead the way for DaCosta

Untouchable in all but one of seven starts, which he corrected with a walloping of ENGLAND'S ROSE when they renewed rivalry on the round course, Gary Subratie's WOW is out for another stroll on Saturday, the seven-furlong Pick 3 Super Challenge Trophy, after posting a grade-one time of 1:04.4 for five and a half furlongs three weeks ago.

WOW has left rival barns seeking a chink in his armour, winning from three furlongs straight to six and a half, five different distances in six romps, each more impressive than the previous, the most frightening being a 14-length victory when stretched out in the Juvenile Sprint.

Having increased his lead inside the last furlong of every race he has won, WOW WOW's stamina at seven furlongs, against the same bunch of two-year-olds, cannot be questioned. ENGLAND'S ROSE's 22.2 opening split was dismissed by the Casual Trick-Sarah Barracuda colt in the Bearings and Accessories Trophy race, which he won by 11 lengths in 1:05.1.

ENGLAND'S ROSE hasn't been seen since, neither has a two-year-old emerged to show her speed, leaving all juvenile races starting down the backstretch at WOW WOW's mercy. To make matters worse, his half-brother by Nuclear Wayne, CRIMSON, stays all the day, giving rivals advanced homework for next year's classic season.

In a show of loyalty, trainer Gary Subratie and owner Michros have persevered with Panamanian journeyman, Ameth Robles, dispelling the myth that only two or three jockeys at Caymanas Park are worthy of being aboard talented horses.

Though stakes leader-owner Carlton Watson is staging a brave fight, the battle belongs to Michros, who, through WOW WOW alone, can put up his heels and await his name to be inscribed on the champion owner trophy with Saturday's expected $1.9m, plus next month's Jamaica Two-Year-Old Stakes and the $1m bonus for winning the series, which started with the Cash Pot Trophy.

Meanwhile, the farcical 'trainers' championship' battle continues in the Pick 3 Supreme Trophy at six furlongs in which champion trainer Wayne DaCosta has four of seven starters including SHE'S A MANEATER and imported STRANGER DANGER, who tasted defeat for the first time at the feet of his stablemate in the Diamond Mile.

DaCosta has five runners in the $1.3m event, which initially had 19 entries, eight from his barn and a similar number from Nunes. Among the declared starters is LADY BLUE, trained by DaCosta for all her life, now taking orders from Leroy Tomlinson.

SHE'S A MANEATER continues to rip the exercise track and ought to lead home a sweep of possibly the entire purse by DaCosta, who starts the day trailing Nunes by $5.7m.
