He is already being touted as one of the best dead-ball kickers on the island, but make no mistake, Oquassa Chong is aiming to prove his versatility as a quintessential attacking player in the Jamaica Premier League.

The 20-year-old Harbour View forward has already rattled up two goals under his belt in two games so far in the truncated league, and the St Thomas native is setting his sights on scoring even more goals for the 'Stars of the East'.

Chong blasted home a magnificent free-kick in week one to earn Harbour View a share of the spoils, then squeezed home his second of the season to also rescue a point against Cavalier FC in week two.

For Chong, the prolific start to the season is a testament to the hard work which was put in over the pre-season.

"It's a wonderful start to the season for me with two goals already and I want to attribute that to my teammates and especially my coach. I did a lot of gym work and I can say it is surely paying off," said Chong.

The former Jamaica College player is already eyeing a spot atop the goal-scoring charts, as he is confident that he can chalk up another two goals when his team faces Mount Pleasant tomorrow in Match Day three.

"I want to score as many goals as possible, but in reality, the aim is to get over 10 goals and if that happens, I will be satisfied with that."

Already Chong has become an integral part of Harbour View's attack, with coach Ludlow Bernard shifting the wily player from mid-field to the forward line.

After playing just 262 minutes in two previous seasons for Harbour View in the Premier League, the Danvers Pen resident has already chalked up 168 minutes in two appearances for the 'Stars of the East' this season.

Chong, who leads the goal-scoring charts in the early standings with his two goals, wants to emulate his idol Lionel Messi. However, his mentor is national defender Alvas Powell. Both players hail from the same community.
