Cavalier's seasoned professionals secured them a 3-0 win over Montego Bay United (MBU) in the Jamaica Premier League yesterday.

Former Kingston College player Dwayne Atkinson and former Wolmer's player Ronaldo Webster watched from the bench during the first half, but made an impact when substituted in.

Atkinson fired in a shot from the edge of the 18-yard box which skipped and eluded MBU goalkeeper Darrien Tummings in the 59th minute.

He was also involved in the build-up for the second goal, as it was his pass that found Kenroy Campbell, who blasted a left-footed effort into the net in the 78th minute to make it 2-0.

Webster was then on hand a minute later to seal the deal for the defending champions, as Campbell slipped a pass into his path and he slotted past the advancing keeper to make it 3-0.

The win now sees Cavalier leap to fifth in the standings on 12 points, and Technical Director Rudolph Speid says it hints at more progress for the season.

"Today, we introduced some of our better tried and proven Premier League players in the second half and both of them scored," he said. "We were able to open up the Montego Bay team after we made those changes, and as a result, we have 12 points from four wins and we are moving up the table, which is what we want."

MBU Technical Director Ricky Hill found positives in spite of the result.

"I was very happy for the first 60 minutes," he said. "Happy with the effort and the commitment, but from then onwards, it was disappointing."

MBU are now last in the table, behind Molynes United on goal difference, with just four points from their seven games.

Former champions Arnett Gardens defeated Dunbeholden 2-1 in the opening match of the double header.

Luca Kong, in the 52nd minute, and Damari Deacon, in the 80th, got Arnett's goals, while Atapharoy Bygrave gave Dunbeholden their consolation in second half stoppage time.

Arnett, now on 14 points, move to third in the table, swapping places with Dunbeholden (13 points), now fourth.
