Best

Peter McGregor

Dunbeholden's Peter McGregor arrived at the St Catherine club to revitalise his career after a difficult stint overseas. His double against Molynes United took him to six goals for the season, ensuring that his club remained on top of the league for yet another week. While Atapharoy Bygrave is the club and league's leading goalscorer with 10, McGregor has played his part in providing another source of goals for the team as they continue their push for the number one seeding.

Humble Lion

Humble Lion may have shown signs that they are turning the corner at this late stage of the season. Thanks to a Kemar Mullings double, they are now unbeaten in three games and are six points away from the top six. Their second win of the season has come at a critical point of the season as they look to sneak into the play-offs, a goal that seemed to be out of reach- given their form at the start of their campaign.

Shaqueil Bradford

Waterhouse's Shaqueil Bradford ensured that Waterhouse kept within striking distance of first place in the Jamaica Premier League, netting a goal and an assist in their 3-0 win over Portmore United. But it was the goal that was significant for him, dedicating his effort to the memory of Cavalier and St Andrew Technical High School's (STATHS) Omar Laing, whose murder shocked the local football community.

Worst

Omar Laing's murder

The football fraternity was in shock over Cavalier SC and STATHS player Omar Laing, who was murdered in a drive-by shooting last Friday. The killing of Laing saw players and coaches renew cries for peace.

Portmore United defence

Portmore United's defence had multiple problems in their 3-0 defeat to Waterhouse. The first of Cardell Benbow's two goals from that night left them exposed on the counter-attack after being unable to make their own opportunity from a free-kick. The final goal stemmed from a blocked clearance in their own end which led to Benbow finishing from close range. Winless in their last four games, they need to ensure that there is not a repeat of unforced errors if they are to get into the play-offs.

Vere United

The sophomoric slump has hit Vere United and head coach Donovan Duckie. After the highs of their play-off place last season, it has been difficult to repeat that feat. While they haven't conceded multiple goals in their game recently, their attack has not been firing either. They are winless in their last four games and are nine points off the play-off places. If they are to come from behind to give themselves a chance at the top six, chance creation and execution has to improve.
