Vere stun Chapelton Maroons 4-0

Vere United scored their biggest win in the Jamaica Premier League (JPL) this season, after a 4-0 win over Clarendon rivals Chapelton Maroons at the Ashenheim Stadium last night.
The win also put the Linval Dixon-coached Vere level on 19 points and goal difference with Tivoli in 11th place.
Vere had only scored six goals in their first 18 matches before a 3-3 draw with Montego Bay United recently.
However, after eight goals in their last four matches, coach Linval Dixon believes they have discovered their shooting boots.
"In previous games and games leading up to this, we have been getting chances but we found our golden boots tonight," he said.
"To score four, nobody would have seen this coming, but we dug deep and fight as a team and got the result."
Orlando Lawrence got Vere off to an early start with a 12th-minute strike. Shaquille Notice added a second five minutes later, both because of defensive blunders.
Jason Dyer's 28th-minute goal made it 3-0 before halftime, and Ramario Bryan added another in the 53rd to seal the win.
"Early goals are always the key. It gives added motivation and lift. So an excellent performance," Dixon beamed.
"The Maroons defenders made some errors, and we capitalised but the finishing was supreme, but you can't be too greedy. To score four and kept a clean sheet says a lot. It will give us added motivation going into the remaining games."
Chapelton were lethargic and lacked purpose throughout, and coach Clovis De Oliveira was upset with his players' mental approach.
"It is not the result but the way the team performed, I am not going to blame the players it's my responsibility, but I am shocked.
"I was not expecting that. It was the first time I put the same team from the last match and what happened was this.
"You have to have dignity. Even if you cannot survive, the players have to respect the logo and the fans of Chapelton," he fumed afterwards.
Chapelton stayed rooted to the foot of the table with eight points, three behind Faulkland and 11 adrift of Vere.
In the day's other match at the same venue, Cavalier stopped Humble Lion 1-0 through Colin Anderson's 27th-minute strike to move to the top of the points standing.
