St. Jago's Kimeka Smith broke the record twice on her way to winning the Class Two girls' shot put at the ISSA/Grace Kennedy Boys and Girls' Athletics Championships at the National Stadium today. She threw 16.44 metres to break the old record of 15.99 metres set by Danielle Sloley in 2018.

St. Jago High's Kimeka Smith was in record-breaking form to win the gold medal in the Class Two girls' shot put at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls' Athletics Championships at the National Stadium today.

Smith, with her second attempt, covered a distance of 16.44 metres to erase the old mark of 15.99 metres, which Danielle Sloley of Immaculate Conception High set in 2018.

Clarendon College's Marla-Kay Lampart also surpassed the old standard, as she threw 16.02 metres, which won her the silver medal.

Smith's St Jago teammate Rehanna Biggs completed the medal-taking spots with a mark of 14.61 metres.
