Mount Pleasant Football Academy continue to steamroll opponents in the Jamaica Premier League (JPL), with Dunbeholden being the latest victim in their seven-match winning streak, in the feature game of a doubleheader at Drax Hall yesterday.

Goals from Shaquile Bradford (16th minute), Suelae McCalla (28th), Raheem Edwards (56th) and Kyle Ming (66th) saw the home team to a convincing 4-0 win.

Mount Pleasant have scored three or more goals in six of the matches in their current winning streak, and coach Theodore Whitmore commended his coaching staff for the work they have been doing with the forwards, saying they want to keep improving.

"I'm very pleased this afternoon (Sunday) with the performance. We kept a clean sheet and we keep scoring goals," Whitmore said.

"I have to say the coaching staff has been doing an excellent job with the players (in front of goal), so it's no surprise going into a game on any given day," he stated.

In spite of the wins, Whitmore added, "We are not where we want to be, but game by game we can see glimpses of the improvements. We can see the training stuff happening out there in the game, so we just have to keep going."

Mount Pleasant went in front when Bradford swept home a cross from Daniel Green from six yards.

Green was again the supplier in the 28th minute. His ball from a corner found the head of McCalla, who redirected past Romane Hamilton in goal.

After the break, Dunbeholden looked threatening and more likely to score, but they were brought back to earth when Edwards stabbed home his own rebound after goalkeeper Hamilton parried his effort from 18 yards.

The home team nearly squandered a chance to go 4-0 up, as Alex Marshall, just returning from a two-month injury layoff, had his penalty saved, but Ming reacted quickest to turn in the rebound.

Nicholas Nelson and Gadail Irving also had great chances but were denied late by goalkeeper Hamilton.

"I thought we played the occasion and not the game and allowed the crowd to get into our heads," said Dunbeholden coach Byjeon Thomas.

"We came here to put our foot on the ball but as I said the crowd got in our heads and we started playing too quick and started losing the ball and that's when Mount Pleasant took over."

The defeat left Dunbeholden (15 points) one place and three points outside the relegation zone.

Mount Pleasant (37) stayed three points clear of Montego Bay United and Arnett Gardens, the latter getting late goals from Marlon Martin (87th) and Fabian Reid (90+1) to secure three points against Racing United at Ferdi Neita Park in Portmore.

Racing dropped one spot to 11th with 15 points.

At Effortville Community Centre in Clarendon, Robinho Gordon scored the game's only goal, three minutes from the end, as Vere Phoenix clipped Humble Lion 1-0 in the parish derby.

Vere climbed two places to 10th on 15 points, while Humble Lion stay rooted at the bottom on 10 points.

In the opening game at Drax Hall, Peter McGregor (16th, 30th) scored a brace and Devonte Davis netted the other goal as Molynes United FC ran out 3-1 winners against Harbour View FC, for whom Oquassa Chong scored a stoppage-time consolation.

The win lifted Molynes two places to ninth with 16 points, while Harbour View remain second from bottom on 12 points.

In the late game at Catherine Hall, Montego Bay United FC defeated Chapelton Maroons 2-1 to move into second place ahead of Arnett Gardens by virtue of a better goal difference, as both teams are tied on 34 points.
