UNLESS the morning-line favourites are toppled, Saturday's Reggae 6 payout could mirror Sunday's paltry $1,483, outplayed by the Twilight 6, which returned $161,676, boosted by 19-1 shot GIVEMETHELIGHT's stunning victory by a nose in the eighth.

Shane Ellis, who started Sunday's Reggae Six with consecutive winning favourites at five furlongs straight, should enjoy a stroll at seven furlongs astride Gary Subratie's PROPELLANT at seven furlongs in Saturday's opener among native five-year-olds, non-winners of three races.

Peter-John Parsard's NEVER DESPAIR, a half-brother to ATONEMENT, who showed speed as a racer, is among four debutants among three-year-old maidens in the second at five furlongs round.

NEVER DESPAIR caught the eye at exercise, clocking 1:10.1 for five and a half furlongs, the last five in 1:02.2, late January, a workout which makes him a tempting banker.

WATERMAN JOHN and MONEY BOX are the obvious choices in the third at six and a half furlongs. WATERMAN JOHN has the speed to go all the way but appears a bit suspect in the fitness column, giving MONEY BOX a chance to reel him in should he falter.

BURNING VALOR got burnt in the pace on last and bled when finishing down the track behind SONNYT AND CHIPPY on his first outing off the claim. Returning against weaker rivals in the fourth, the five-year-old will be tough to beat at five and a half furlongs.

BIG JULE should repeat off the claim in the fifth after beating the level by nine lengths on last. However, it should be guns out in the sixth, a testy event at five and a half furlongs for four-year-olds, non-winners of two races and imported maidens.
