Popular salon makes D'Angel brand ambassador

Dancehall artiste D'Angel has been signed as the newest brand ambassador for styling salon, Island Blo Bar.

The entertainer whose real name is Michelle Downer. said she was excited to be named as brand ambassador and is looking forward to promoting the company.

"I am excited. They have amazing products and services and I am impressed with their quality of work," she revealed in a statement sent to the WEEKEND STAR. "The location is convenient, their service is top notch, and of course easy on the pocket. As Jamaicans we love a good deal, and this is definitely one."

In her role, D'Angel will do speaking engagements, and promotion and marketing via social media and in her interviews.

D'Angel who has previously served as brand ambassador for Digicel, Coke Zero, Wray & Nephew's G-Force, Access Financial Services Limited and MegaMart, expressed that she is no stranger to representing brands and is looking forward to the journey with Island Blo Bar.

"I know this will be another great journey," she explained. "My first experience at the salon was awesome, I love the ambiance and I recommend it to all fashionable women who need an impressive style but don't have extra time to spend waiting. Island Blo gives you a great look in a much shorter time than regular salons, for on-the-go working women, this is something we need."

Jhenelle Jones, General Manager of Island Blo Bar, said D'Angel was chosen because of her multifaceted nature, knowing she would represent the brand well.

"She's an on-the-go artiste and mother who require a salon that can cater to her hair needs with efficiency," revealed Jones. She added that D'Angel's charisma was one of the main reasons she was selected. "She has the charm to light up a room and to bring out the energy and vibrancy that we reflect in our salon."

Island Blo Bar was officially opened on November 9, at their 124 Old Hope Road location. The salon provides services including blow outs, cuts, wash and blow, custom made clip ons, pixie cuts and page boy cuts. Their head stylist, Johnny Medrano, is an achieved cosmetologist from the Dominica Republic who holds a degree in interior design. He is also a makeup artist.
