Excitement in MoBay! - Thousands attend Digicel and Appleton Special’s Carnival Pon Di Road
Old Hospital in Montego Bay, St James, was transformed in a wave of pulsating energy and vibrant colours for the third leg of the Digicel and Appleton Special's Carnival Pon Di Road series last Friday.
Thousands of patrons gladly flocked to the scene from as early as 6 p.m. to enjoy the street carnival making its way across the island. The jungle-themed dancers showed off their moves to the musical prowess of Kurt Riley and ZJ Sparks with their high-energy dancehall-soca hybrid.
Making a hit with revellers were Appleton Special tumblers, part of the Carnival Pon Di Road exclusive bundle deals. Carnival lovers who came out for the fete, 'socasised' their way throughout the night, as, in true form, the 'Fluffy Diva', Miss Kitty, kept them entertained.
Miss Kitty was in for a surprise herself, as Digicel presented the diva with a cake and gift in celebration of her birthday. Appleton Special, continuing the Carnival Pon Di Road experience later on in the week, dropped in on Miss Kitty in studio, making their entrance with confetti, jungle-themed balloons and gift baskets.
Digicel and Appleton Special will take powder sensation, Carnival Pon Di Road, to the streets of Brown's Town, St Ann, where #RumRules and patrons can #FeteForever today.
