Sean Kingston hails Contractor's support

Multi-platinum recording star Sean Kingston is hailing music marketer, Sean 'Contractor' Edwards, for his recent contribution to his musical career.

The Beautiful Girls singer is booked for Reggae Sumfest 2017, ahead of the release of his Made in Jamaica EP.

A few years ago, Kingston's uncle, Peter Turner, contacted Contractor to undertake the mission of selling a master tape audio recording of rapper Notorious B.I.G.'s 1996 performance at Sting.

It was Contractor's first link to Kingston's family and no one could have anticipated that just more than a decade later, Kingston would be a major star.

Eventually, another Sean, this time Sean 'Puff Daddy' Coombs, got the master recording from Contractor.

Fast forward to February 2017, when Kingston's team reached out to Contractor to market and promote the artiste's latest single, Chance, featuring Vybz Kartel.

The song has shot to prominence, leading Billboard Magazine to publish a story about the song's video, which was shot in Jamaica. Chance is also getting rotation on several US radio stations.

Kingston's management team has now shouldered Contractor with the task of promoting Kingston's two upcoming singles, Paradise, which features rapper Safaree, and Holding Back (No Letting Go), a remake of Wayne Wonder's 2003 hit.

"My management team loves working with Contractor, (and) I am delighted about my three latest singles and my EP, Made in Jamaica," Kingston said in a release. "I've chosen to release the singles first in Jamaica and the release party will be in Jamaica also. I am excited about working on Sumfest and you will see the best of Sean Kingston on Sumfest."

Contractor, in the meantime, is happy with the joint venture.

"It's a pleasure working with Sean Kingston. His team is extremely professional, and I also learn a lot from them and their vast experience in the industry," Contractor said.
