MoBay Jerk Fest was fun galore
With no rains for the first time in recent years, the 2017 staging of the Montego Bay Jerk Fest, which unfolded at the Catherine Hall Entertainment Centre, in the western city on Emancipation Day, was an absolute blast for the thousands who showed up for the good food, fun, frolic and dazzling concert.
From the face-painting, cart and train rides, bounce-about and the many other attractions, it was all excitement for the children throughout the day, leaving the parents to enjoy the various jerked foods complemented by pulsating sound system music.
Speaking of the food, it was a case of 'jerked' everything, except for the vegetable dishes, coconut water and sugar cane.
Having had their fill of food and frolic, the excitement was at fever-pitch when the star-studded concert got under way shortly after 7 p.m.
There was much singing and dancing until minutes after 1 a.m. as the likes of I-Octane, Sanchez, Style X, Fab Five and gospel sensation Marsha Daniels provided rich entertainment.
