Renowned selector DJ Banka believes that dancehall artiste Giannii is a bona fide contender to be the next big artiste to come up in the Jamaican dancehall industry.

"Giannii thing up. He has a big voice and he has good delivery," said DJ Banka in a recent interview with THE STAR.

"Giannii is the next big thing. He has the skills and lyrics to run the place. Is we seh young artiste fi bust and go a road. Disc jocks like me and a couple others have being playing his songs in the dancehall, and the crowd a gravitate to his songs."

Giannii, whose real name is Jevaughn Sutton, is getting some love from the streets and on radio with songs like No Rose, Anuh My Fault, Gone A Lead, Hush and Good Good.

He recently shot a music video for Hush in the UK.

"I'm happy with where my career is at this time - but I won't become complacent - and keep putting in the work in the studio and on the streets to let people see the man who they hear on the sound systems, in their homes and in their cars," he told THE STAR.

Meanwhile, Giannii, who hails from East Kingston in an area called Shooter's Hill, recently went on a tour in the UK.

"While on my UK tour, I performed at a show called Bruk Out at the O2 Forum in London, England. The show also featured the likes of Jamaican artiste Masicka," he said.

While he is making an impact locally, Giannii believes an overseas appointment in Germany in December will push his career on the international scene.
