Niko Chromatic's funeral tomorrow

The funeral service for the late Nicholas 'Niko Chromatic' Grant will be held this Saturday at the Holy Trinity Cathedral.

The thanksgiving service for the life of the dancehall selector is slated to begin at 1 p.m. Interment will be at Dovecot Memorial.

The announcement was made on social media by the late selector's partner, Kimberly Mais.

When THE WEEKEND STAR spoke to Mais about how the family has been coping since Niko's passing, she explained that some days are harder than others, but the family is getting by one day at a time.

She said the family members have been leaning on their faith, sending up prayers daily, and relying on the strength of extended family and friends during this difficult time.

For those persons interested in participating in Chromatic's set-up tonight, Mais explained that although the family is grateful for the outpouring of love and support from the public, the event will be an intimate gathering and will not be open to the general public.

Niko Chromatic died of complications due to kidney disease at the University Hospital of the West Indies in St Andrew on May 8. He was diagnosed with the condition in 2015.
